LSURJ Endorses Judicial Candidates

RE:  Louisville SURJ Endorses Judge Karen Faulkner and Judge Lisa Langford for Re-election to District Court.

Judges Karen Faulkner and Judge Lisa Langford should be re-elected to District Court.  They have each shown outstanding integrity, fairness and helped make our court system work better for everyone.

Based on observations from our LSURJ Court Watch program in which volunteers observe arraignment court, a survey on issues that matter to the public when deciding on judges, and community input, we urge re-election of both candidates. We have seen up close the dedication and commitment both Faulkner and Langford show from the bench. Both should be resoundingly re-elected to continue serving our community.

Judge Karen Faulkner has shown herself to be an exceptionally committed and attentive judge since her election in 2022.

With over 20 years of experience in District Court, and a background as both a private attorney and a public defender, she understands the critical need for the courts to be accessible and fair.

Judge Faulkner is responsive to issues of equity and fairness in the courts, which matter deeply for anyone coming before that body, often on the worst day of their life.

In her 8 years of service on District Court, Judge Lisa Langford has proven herself as a fair and dedicated public servant. As a participating judge in the Bench Warrant Amnesty Court, that LSURJ is part of, she helps people who have paid their debt to get on with their lives.
